Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall Bangkok
Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall was built in the year 1904 as per the royal command of King Rama V. It is located on the east of the Vimanmek Mansion across a small canal. Abhisek Throne Hall is principally a small one-storey building used solely for state occasions and celebrations. Various state occasions which are conducted here includes receiving foreign ambassadors, during Dusit Palace celebration.
In 1993 Abhishek Dusit Throne Hall was restored and reopened by Their Majesties. The throne hall now displays arts and crafts formed in Thailand under the benefaction of the queen's Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupation and Related Technology (SUPPORT).
Among the fine crafts exhibited therein are silverware silk, needlework, gold and silver stuffs and other delicate things as well.
This program assists people in rural areas by promoting traditional arts and crafts to help people uphold a standard of living in the areas they are from and stop the migration to Thailand's cities. The works on display include traditional weaving and wood carvings, traditional ‘Mudmee' silk, and ceramics.
The nearest BTS station is Phayathai, from there you can hire to complete the rest of the journey. It is also feasible to get to the mansion by boat – stop at Tewet Pier and take a Tuk-tuk the rest of the way to the mansion.
