Wat Traimit Bangkok
Temple of Great Buddha (Wat Traimit) in Bangkok is the house of the World's biggest statue of Lord Buddha. The temple is located at the far end of Chinatown's and it is very close to the Hualampong railway station. The temple itself is not very significant but the statue makes the temple famous. The weight of the image is five and half tons and it is 15 feet high. There is a great past behind this great image of Lord Buddha and this distributed at the time of entry to the temple in the form of pamphlet. The craftsmen created gold Buddha images but covered them to hide from the thieves. They used stucco and plaster to cover those images. This was discovered during the shift of the image to Wat Traimit. When it was discovered it became a large statue of Buddha in gold. The image is a marvelous work of art in Sukthai style. The remains of the plaster are preserved for display. The architecture of the temple is very ordinary. On the roof of the temple there are various fascinating machines that tell the destiny of a person. When you drop a coin on the rolling machine, the coin will stuck in a particular number and from a box of sam4e number you can be able to know your fortune.
